Mistletoe Margaritas

A pitcher full of a festive holiday cocktail combining orange juice, cranberry juice, tequila, Sprite, and simple syrup. Salt or sugar on the rim and garnish with cranberries and rosemary.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 limes for juicing and rimming glasses
  • cups cranberry juice
  • cups orange juice
  • 2 cups lemon/lime soda 7Up or Sprite
  • ¼ cup simple syrup
  • ½ cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 2 cups tequila
  • cranberries and rosemary sprigs garnish - optional
  • rimming salt optional
  • rimming sugar optional

Instructions
 

  • Cut one lime in half and rub it around the rims of your margarita glasses.
  • Dip the rims into a shallow plate of sugar or salt, whichever you prefer (or both) and set glasses aside.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the cranberry juice, orange juice, maraschino cherry juice, simple syrup, juice from one lime, and tequila. Stir well to mix.
  • Just before serving, pour in the lemon-lime soda (7Up or Sprite) and ice. Gently Stir to keep the carbonation intact.
  • Fill the prepared glasses with ice and pour the margarita mixture over the ice.
  • Add fresh cranberries and a sprig of rosemarty t each glass as garnish.

Notes

This recipe makes enough for 6-8 servings.
