Million Dollar Pound Cake, seriously this cake is amazing. This is a dense cake and is busting with butter and almond flavor.
This is a Gooseberry Patch recipe from Big Book Book of Home Cooking, but my friend Cris over at Recipes That Crock actually found this recipe and I love it so much I wanted it here on my site, it’s truly amazing!
While this cake is already over the top with its pound of butter and 6 eggs………

Million Dollar Pound Cake
This is the perfect cake for a special occasion, or in my case any day of the week is good for this cake!
Million Dollar Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Butter
- 3 Cups Sugar
- 6 Eggs
- 4 Cups Flour
- 3/4 Cup Milk
- 1 t Almond Extract
- 1 t Vanilla Extract
- 2-3 Tablespoons softened butter for tube pan
- 1/4 cup sugar for tube pan
Instructions
- Butter a 10 inch tube pan than sprinkle pan with 1/4 cup sugar
- Add the butter to your mixer and whip it - whip it good - like 3-4 minutes, the longer you whip it the paler the butter becomes - this is a good thing
- Gradually add the sugar to the butter while the mixer is on and again, whip it good, long enough that the sugar crystals almost dissolve in the butter
- Add the eggs one at a time, until well combined
- Alternate adding the flour and milk to the mixing bowl
- Add the extracts
- Pour cake batter into tube pan and bake in a 300 degree pre-heated oven for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, than turn out and cool completely - if you can wait!
