My take on the traditional New Orleans cocktail that I appropriately call Hurricane Cocktail, Yankee Style! We all can’t be on Bourbon Street to celebrate Mardi Gras so cocktails at home it is.
Yes, I’m a northerner that loves southern food and drinks!
This is a super yummy drink – not to undermine drinking a legit Hurricane on Bourbon Street in New Orleans!
But when you are in the middle of Indiana needing a good sweet drink, some Shrimp Creole and Jalapeno Corn Muffins – well this drink is a winner!
Bonus, you can sport your beads without lifting your shirt…..unless you want to of course!! And honestly drink a pitcher of these at home and you might…..just sayin’!!
Super simple to measure and throw ingredients into a pitcher and drink the evening away listening to some jazz and cooking up your southern favorite dishes! Make a pitcher for the kids as well, sans the rum, of course – the combination of orange juice, pineapple juice, grenadine and topped with maraschino cherries is a real kid-pleaser!
