FOOD AND TRUST
I heard the other day that there is a ‘war on food’, I was shocked -I love food, who on earth would have something against it? The same day I also heard ‘misunderstanding leads to mistrust’ and it started to make sense!
Who are consumers supposed to trust these days? Food is the cornerstone to life, it’s taken seriously by consumers as it should be – but want to know something…….it’s taken just as seriously by those on the ground floor of producing it.
That’s where I come in! I have been in the midst of production agriculture my entire life, I have never lived anywhere but on a farm!
What my family produces for the food system is also what we eat, I shop for my groceries at the same places you do.
So here I am to talk about life on the farm, our farm – there are ups and downs, a lot of laughing and some tears-just like everybody else’s life.
This is our life, come along for the ride and if you have questions ask, if I don’t have the answer I can find someone who does! I’m not here to say the way we do things on our farm is the only way it’s just the way that works for our family farm which is our business and livelihood. I’m also not here to lecture, but if you do learn something while you are here, well, that’s a bonus!
