Easy Beef Gravy From Scratch
Gravy is easy!
Start with a simple roux:
Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce cook till thick and smooth:
Add salt and pepper to taste:
And you have gravy!
Tips:
- Keep in mind if you use the broth from your roast the seasonings you used on your roast will affect your gravy flavor.
- Gravy adds settle flavor to your meal, it doesn’t have to be all the flavor!

Easy Beef Gravy From Scratch
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 teaspoon worstechire sauce
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Make a roux with the flour and the butter - I turn the burner on and heat up the pan, add the butter and when it starts to melt I add in the flour - combine and stir with a whisk until smooth then continue to cook until the flour starts to smell nutty and your roux starts to darken in color.

- Now add in the 2 cups of beef broth slowly while whisking, once incorporated add the worseteshire sauce - continue to cook on low heat while whisking and gravy will thicken.
- Once gravy is to the desired thickness turn heat off, add salt and pepper to taste.
- If gravy seems to thick add a Tablespoon of beef broth at a time until it is the desired consistency.
