Two of my favorite things, Old Fashioned Mashed Potatoes and Antique Tractors. Both of which are family favorites as well!
Mashed potatoes are life……I love mashed potatoes! My Mom makes the best mashed potatoes ever – EVER! They are super simple, super easy, not fancy but creamy and delicious!
I am a connoisseur of mashed potatoes and as such I’m here to tell you, you can serve me all the fancy dressed-up mashed potatoes you want. You can add cream cheese, shredded cheese, sour cream, your grandma’s secret ingredient, it won’t matter. Add anything you can think of but I will still stand beside my statement, these simple creamy mashed potatoes are hands down the best!
They are a family tradition just as much as the antique tractors we own and love! There’s just something about having those tractors in the barn that used to work the same land we work now. They hold memories, ideas of how we imagine farming was for those generations before us. The ones that we are related to, worked the land like we do. It’s a connection that is physical.
Mostly used for parades and shows now, we keep them shined up and safe in the shed – they’ve earned their keep here as they were all working tractors at one point!
A mix of old and newer ones that we use on the farm!
Old Fashioned Mashed Potatoes
One of my favorites though is this John Deere 110 lawnmower. Our son bought one a few years ago to restore by himself.
He picked this particular one because of this picture!
A picture of his Dad on the one that they had when he was a kid. Cole has loved this picture since he was little. So when he decided he wanted to restore something on his own he immediately knew he wanted a John Deere 110.
He truly did this all on his own. He asked lots of questions but he wanted to do the work himself.
And another of this kid’s favorites is this recipe for mashed potatoes!
Serve this at family dinners, holiday meals, with Crock Pot Beef and Noodles, Traditional Beef Pot Roast Dinner, or Fried Chicken and Skillet Gravy!
